CHOICE THAT FEELS PERSONAL
Choose who supports you.
One of the defining features of IHSS is the ability to choose agency-based attendants. A qualified family member, friend, or current caregiver may be considered, provided they are hired through an approved IHSS agency and complete all applicable background checks, onboarding, training, and competency requirements.
Attendant eligibility and employment are subject to IHSS program requirements, agency hiring standards, the authorized care plan, and the member’s individual circumstances.
CAN A FAMILY MEMBER PROVIDE YOUR CARE?
Eligible members may be able to select a qualified family member, friend, or current caregiver as an IHSS attendant. Attendants must be hired by an approved agency and complete required screening, onboarding, training, and competency checks.
The member’s Case Management Agency determines eligibility, authorized services, and approved hours. Not every person or task will qualify. Leon Home Care does not determine Medicaid or IHSS eligibility.
